What the BAS-2 test shows
Body Appreciation Scale-2 (BAS-2) — an updated version of the positive body image scale published by American researchers Tracy Tylka and Nichole Wood-Barcalow in 2015. It measures not dissatisfaction, but respect for the body, care for it, and the ability not to measure oneself by media standards.
Retaking the test shows how your attitude towards yourself changes during nutritional work.
How the result is calculated
Each answer scores from 1 (“never”) to 5 (“always”). The result is the mean of the 10 items, from 1 to 5. The higher the score, the more you accept and respect your body.
The scale does not have a single 'normal threshold'. It is useful to retake it and see if the score increases over time.
Frequently Asked Questions
What score is considered good?
There is no fixed norm. The closer to 5, the more body acceptance. It is most useful to compare your score with yourself over a few weeks or months.
Are my responses sent anywhere?
No. Scores are calculated in your browser, we do not store responses.
