Eating Behaviour and Body Image Tests

Two validated questionnaires used by doctors and psychologists. The result is not a diagnosis but a reason to talk to a specialist.

Answers are calculated in your browser. We do not store or send them anywhere.

Why take the test

Eating disorders rarely start suddenly. Initially, there are 'normal' diets, stress eating, and body shame. Questionnaires help you see these tendencies from an outside perspective and approach a doctor with specific figures, not just a feeling that 'something is wrong'.

Which test to choose

When not to wait for test results

Consult a doctor as soon as possible if you notice in yourself or a loved one:

  • thoughts about food, weight, or shape occupy most of the day;
  • you strictly restrict food or skip meals to lose weight;
  • you experience binge eating episodes where you cannot stop;
  • after eating, you induce vomiting, use laxatives, or exhaust yourself with exercise;
  • your weight has changed dramatically without a clear reason;
  • you avoid eating in front of others or are so ashamed of your body that it limits your life.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can a test diagnose an eating disorder?

No. Questionnaires help notice trends and prepare for a conversation with a doctor. A diagnosis is made by a doctor after an examination.

Which test to choose?

If you are concerned about how and why you eat, start with the Dutch Eating Behavior Questionnaire (DEBQ). If you are more concerned about body image, start with the BAS-2 scale.

Are my responses sent anywhere?

No. Scores are calculated in your browser, we do not store answers. The PDF report is created on your device.

When to see a doctor without waiting for tests?

If you are rapidly losing or gaining weight, inducing vomiting, using laxatives to control weight, experiencing binge eating episodes with a sense of loss of control, or thoughts about food interfere with your life.
