Nutrition for Dermatological Conditions

A dietitian selects a diet based on the dermatological diagnosis and considering the medications needed to normalise the condition.

Olga Bezugla, Clinical Dietitian

Specialists at our medical centre develop balanced nutrition for a wide range of skin diseases:

  • atopic dermatitis
  • vitiligo
  • rosacea
  • psoriasis
  • acne, etc.

There are many myths and 'horror stories' in dermatology (for example, regarding dairy products and gluten). The task of the dietitian is to answer all questions and dispel misconceptions that hinder proper nutrition.

Proper nutrition for dermatological diseases.

The diet is selected considering the patient's individual indicators and diagnosis, as well as their metabolism data. Our doctors use evidence-based dietary protocols aimed at improving skin condition and alleviating the manifestations of dermatological diseases.

The diet for psoriasis patients allows:

  • Reducing the manifestation of the disease on the skin and decreasing the severity of the condition
  • Increasing the effectiveness of prescribed medical therapy

A dietitian composes a balanced diet that addresses vitamin and nutrient deficiencies, helps improve health, and extends remission periods.

The diet for rosacea skin disease helps:

  • Reducing the risks of skin manifestations and preventing disease exacerbation
  • Building a balanced diet that makes it easy for you to control the disease and the risks of its manifestations

The doctor will identify dietary triggers for rosacea used by specialists from the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) and provide dietary recommendations.

The acne diet includes:

  • Limiting foods with a high glycaemic index, which affects the severity of acne and the need for medication.
  • There is also a certain link with dairy products, but further examinations and a personalised approach are necessary.

The diet for atopic dermatitis aims to:

  • Exclude foods that trigger allergic reactions.
  • Include foods in the diet that help fill deficiencies and establish healthy eating habits.
  • Care for the gastrointestinal tract, as the role of probiotics and prebiotics in atopic dermatitis is extremely important.

A dietitian will also help you identify foods to which you are sensitive. For example, many of our patients believe they need to exclude gluten. In fact, if you are not sensitive to this complex protein, it can be consumed.

For an initial consultation, you need to take tests at any convenient laboratory (results are valid for 1 month) and make an appointment by phone or on the website. This is the first step towards beauty and health!
